CampusAccess is a stored-value account associated with the official Bloomington Campus Identification Card.
The CampusAccess account is available to all students, faculty and staff cardholders.
There are no purchases allowed on credit, funds must be on deposit.
Every month during the academic year some 10,000-14,000 cardholders actively make purchases using their CampusAccess account.
Around 140,000 CampusAccess transactions totaling 1.5 million dollars are made each year at participating off-campus merchant locations.
CampusAccess is a secure, convenient method of accepting payment. Generally fraudulent use is reported less than 2-3 times per year.
CampusAccess can be accepted as payment for most goods and services. Purchase of some items like tobacco, alcohol, gift cards and lottery tickets by CampusAccess are prohibited.
In order to accept CampusAccess payments, you must have a terminal capable of connecting to our Transaction System, which requires proprietary software from our system provider. This terminal may be either purchased or leased.
If a Transaction Interface Agent (TIA) exists with our system provider, CampusAccess can be accepted by a 3rd party POS system.
We are unable to process transactions on-line or through other 3rd party POS systems.
